Striking how brown Lake Superior is looking. It reminds me of the chocolate river in Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The brown-ness is due to the heavy storms from a week and a half ago and the iron in the the soil pushed in from the rising rivers (as best I understand it). As we drove out of Ashland I snapped these shots with my camera.
