Main Street Madeline Island 2012 - St. John's UCC

The only online information I could find about St. John's United Church of Christ was on Flikr. I don't know how accurate the following information is.

"This is the only Protestant Church on Madeline Island. It is significant in the area of religion, and is a local example of 'Tudor-Revival' details in the arch. It was built in 1925 for the Evangelical and Reform Church, which began a mission to the Native Americans in 1922. A merger with the Congregational Church in 1957 formed the current U.C.C. now occupying this building."

Third Visit 2012 Day 2 - Pizza from Grandpa Tony's

After a long, hot, yet very enjoyable day in Bayfield, we decided to eat in. Warren, Gary, and I went to Grandpa Tony's for pizza to bring home and timed it for when Dale got back from work. Yum - all I can say is yum.

Third Visit 2012 Day 2 - Tommy's

Gary and Warren were curious to see what Tommy's Burned Down Bar was all about so we hit happy hour after returning from Bayfield.  I don't think I've been since about 2005. The gin and tonics were great and the atmosphere, as always, was amusing.  Dale couldn't join us as he had to work.

Third Visit 2012 Day 2 - Shopping in Bayfield

There were lots of shops to visit after having lunch at Maggie's. One of my favorites is Sweet Sailing. They've got great candy. I always like getting the chocolate peanut cluster or the toffee. Gary was into the licorice and Warren just had to point out the Sugar Daddies. There was lots of taffy available too.
