The lilacs here at home in Minneapolis are starting to fill out. This photo was taken on Madeline Island just under a year ago on June 18, 2011. Obviously the Island is usually just a little bit behind us.

2008 and 2009
Due to health issues with our dog Sophie, I was not able to make it up to the island in 2008 and 2009. Of course, Dale was able to visit Minneapolis a few times each of those summers.

Big Bay Town Park 2
From Wikipedia: "Big Bay Town Park offers camping and is free to the public. It has access to the longest beach on the island and adjoins the Big Bay State Park. With help from the summer's sun, the surface water temperature in the sheltered bay can rise to 70 degrees F while the water just off shore might remain a frigid 50 degrees."
