Island 2017 - Day 2: Athena and the Duck

Tuesday, June 20, 2017

Ice cream at Grandpa Tony's after dinner at the Beach Club and then a lovely long walk with Athena. At one point when she was pretty close to shore we pointed out a duck that was not too far out into the water. When we said "duckie?" she went NUTS! Needless say, the duck sped off quickly.

Island 2016 - Second Trip Day 4: Birdie

Monday, July 11, 2016

The rain let up just before noon for just long enough to get Athena out and walk in to town to get some pictures.

Bell Street Gallery had a nesting bird in one of its pieces. I seem to remember there were two smaller ones last time.

Madeline 2013 - 2nd Trip: Nature Walk

Dale and I heard some bluejays squawking earlier today.  Saw a turtle trying to cross the road over by the center.

Madeline Island 2013 - First Visit: Goldie Fawn

Thursday June 13, 2013

On my quest for a blueberry muffin I met a new friend. I left the house for Mission Hill at about 7 a.m. and felt something breeze by the back of leg. I figured it was a rabbit but when I turned around I saw it was the adorable fawn pictured above. She let me look at her for awhile. Later in the day when I left the house to walk to the grocery store she whisked behind me again. I decided to name her Goldie Fawn.
