Island 2016 - First Trip Day 3: Dale and Athena

Saturday, June 18, 2016

Athena and I ran into Dale just as we were returning from a walk and he was heading out for a bike ride.

Island 2016 - First Trip Day 2: Friday Morning Walk

Friday, June 17, 2016

Glorious and relaxing morning. Got Athena out for a nice walk. Last night I noticed the new solar panels in between the town parking lot on Colonel Woods Avenue and Dale's place. Dale told me they're for powering the library and the clinic.

Walked to Mission Hill Coffee for my first blueberry muffin of the season. Divine.

Madeline Island Heritage Center

During my many visits to the Island I've never stopped by this complex of old historic buildings.  Located at 273 Colonel Woods Avenue at Island Lane (just a ways up the street from the History Center) are three notable structures: the Lakeview School House, the First Protestant Parsonage, and the Angus Family/Cheese Shop.  Dale and I visited during my most recent trip.
