Dale used to hang out at the Black Cat Coffee House during his first few summers of working in northern Wisconsin. He took me there the first summer he was up way back in 2002. After grocery shopping we stopped by to find that it's still there after all these years.
Dale and I walked to The Beach Club for dinner. We both had fish sandwiches. Delicious. Then we walked to Grandpa Tony's for ice cream. Also delicious.
Fran and Charlie took us to Ella's for breakfast this morning. After that we chatted at the apartment for a bit and then they took the ferry back to Bayfield thus, ending their visit. It was nice to have them for company.
Looking toward the Wisconsin mainland. What a gorgeous day.
Fran and Charlie took us to dinner tonight at The Pub. I had the whitefish and it was fantastic. I ordered a martini to start and Charlie began with a Maker's Mark Manhattan. Bless his heart.
Evening walk with Dale down to the ferry landing to meet friends from church, Fran and Charlie. Pictured above is their ferry as it arrived. Fran and Charlie visited last year as well but not during one of my weekends up so it was nice to have a chance to visit with them. They had been to one of the concerts in Bayfield tonight before coming over.
I took a lovely walk on this cool and cloudy morning. Because the Island is so far behind Minneapolis weather-wise, the lilacs are still blooming. The ones back home disappeared a few weeks ago. They didn't last very long due to it going from cool to warm so quickly. It's nice to be able to enjoy them again.
Dale got a rental car in Duluth and drove back to Minneapolis yesterday to spend the night. We dropped Athena off at the kennel this morning and then went to pick up a rental car for me. I followed Dale back to Duluth to return his rental car which he then traded for a van to use for work. Made it to Bayfield in time to catch the second to last ferry to the Island (7:30 p.m.).
