Athena and I were both excited to see Dale. We all embarked on a walk so Athena could get the lay of the land with her sniffer. Photos are of some sights on the walk. Shortly after, Dale took me to dinner at The Pub. Had to satisfy my whitefish jones.

Athena on the ferry. What a good little traveler. She was like this just about the whole trip up. Her only outburst came when we were at a stoplight in Hayward, WI and a cement mixer pulled up next to us. The mixer was in motion and it just seemed to piss the girl off. She wouldn't stop barking until the light turned green and I was able to get ahead of the monster.

Athena and I left the city at 2:00 p.m.  We stopped at a Marathon gas station near the Minnesota E7- exit by 3:20 p.m.  I filled the tank with gas and took Athena for a very short walk.  She peed.  We were back on the road at 3:30 and didn't stop again until we got to the ferry landing in Bayfield right around 6:30.  We took the 7:00 ferry to Madeline and were reunited with Dale by 7:30!

Dale made it up to the Island yesterday for his summer stay. Here he is wrapped in a blanket and drinking coffee on his deck.

Island 2016 - Dale's Reconnaissance Mission

On May 21, Dale went up to the Island for his yearly reconnaissance mission and to bring his bike up. He posted this picture on his blog accompanied with the following text:

"I’m in the ridiculously busy part of my work year - moving to Madeline Island on June 2 for seven weeks. Ugh. Anyway, I am here this weekend delivering some supplies and dropping off my bike. I took this picture because whenever I tell people about the golf course on Madeline Island, I always say it was designed by Terence Trent D'Arby and people look at me like I’m insane. Clearly I’m not a golfer."
